Welcome to my personal home page. Here you will find information and data which primarily relates to my professional career. The site is thought of as a tool for keeping track of my work related activities. Additionally, it may be used as an instrument for making my research and teaching activities available to those that may find it useful or of interest. This site is continuously under construction and frequently being revised with the hope that I can improve its contents. New sections and functions will be introduced. I aim to upload small scripts and useful data-handling tools that I have found to be invaluable myself. And if you have access, it is possible to download some of my published work under the publications section of the site.

I hope you will find it of interest and that it will capture your attention enough to compel you to visit often.

Professional Details

In 1997 and 1999 I accomplished my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in economics at Aalborg University respectively. I completed my PhD thesis at Aalborg University affiliated with the IKE group, a subunit of DRUID. My thesis was titled 'Firm Growth Rate Distributions, Firm Size Distributions, and the Industry Life Cycle'. It investigated the dynamics of firm growth and the evolution of market structure looking specifically at innovation related issues. Making use of both empirical tools and a simulation based approach the thesis provided both short and run perspetives on the dynamics of industries and firms.

During my doctoral studies, I spent a bit more than 7 months as a visiting PhD student at the Laboratory of Economics and Management at Scuola Superiore Sant' Anna in Pisa, Italy. I enjoyed this stay as a part of the Marie Curie Fellowship program funded by the European Commission.

I joined the Innovation Studies Centre at Imperial College Business School in 2003 where I fist worked as a Research Associate and later as a Research Fellow. The more than 3 years affiliation with Imperial College in London allowed me to move even further into the economics of innovation while not completely letting go of my interest in Entrepreneurship.

In 2006, I moved to Copenhagen Business School where I became an Visiting Associate Professor at the Research Centre on Biotech Business and later a full Associate Professor at the Department of Innovation and Organizational Economics.
